Picture below shows Carol Welch, club president, officially announcing the signing of a 10 year lease on the ground, which is owned by Mr. Anthony Lang, an honorary vice president. The lease has enabled the club to move forward with its plans for cricket development over the next 5 years so that cricket can continue, hopefully for another 100 years. (The Club is officially 100 years old in 2001)
The Club is also pleased to announce that the work on the new practice net is now complete and hopes to start practice sessions on it, just as soon as the weather improves. A formal opening is being planned for June and it is hoped to get some well known names along to attract publicity and raise some funds for the next stage of development.
